If you bring your dog to The Netherlands, and it stays here for longer than three months, you must have your dog registered and you need a European animal passport. This is mandatory as of November this year and it needs to be done by a veterinarian, within two weeks after arrival.

What you, the owner of the dog, must do:

1. You have to request a “Unique Business Number” from the Dutch government. You can do this online on their website (choose: “kies huisdierlocatie: registreren”). The number is linked to you as a person. You can register multiple dogs with the same number. The request costs are €19. You’ll receive the invoice from the government next year.
2. Call us to make an appointment for your dog(s).
3. Bring the UBN number to the appointment.
4. The vet will register the chip number of your dog, together with the European passport number. If you don’t have a European passport for your dog yet, we are obligated to make one.
5. The vet registers your dog and its passport at a special portal. This way, if your dog gets lost, and found by a vet/shelter/animal ambulance, they can read the chip and find your information.

Important: Without the UBN number, we can’t complete the registration. The registration is required by the Dutch government, not registering your dog is punishable.

Onze verplichte en geadviseerde maatregelen vanaf 8 november 2021 vindt u hieronder:  

Houd u alstublieft aan het volgende:

1. Draag een mondkapje.
2. Kom zoveel mogelijk alleen. Als dit niet mogelijk is of u wilt graag met z’n 2en komen, vraag het dan even bij het maken van de afspraak.
3. Houd 1,5 meter afstand. Als dit niet mogelijk is in de wachtkamer, wacht dan even buiten (helaas geldt dit ook als het regent).
4. Ontsmet bij binnenkomst uw handen bij de desinfectiezuil.
5. Kom niet te vroeg, het liefst niet eerder dan 5 minuten voor uw afspraak.
6. Wij maken gebruik van ‘one-way-routing’: we hebben een tweede wachtruimte waar de eerstvolgende afspraak kan wachten, zodat iedereen toch zo min mogelijk in contact komt met anderen.
7. Blijf achter de schermen bij de balies en raak zo min mogelijk aan.
8. Betaal alstublieft met de pin of mobiel. We nemen het pinapparaat meerdere malen per dag af met alcohol.
9. Blijf thuis met klachten van verkoudheid.

Please adhere to the following:

1. Wear a mouth mask.
2. Come to the practice by yourself. If this is not possible or you would like to come with 2 people, please ask the assistant on the phone.
3. Keep 1,5 meters distance from others. If this is not possible in the waiting room, please wait outside (unfortunately also when it rains).
4. Disinfect your hands at the disinfection column on arrival.
5. Do not come too early, preferably no earlier than 5 minutes before your appointment.
6. We use ‘one-way routing’: we have a second waiting room where the next appointment can wait so that everyone has as little contact with others as possible.
7. Please stay behind the screens as much as possible and touch as little as possible.
8. Please pay with the pin or mobile. We wipe the pin device with alcohol several times a day .
9. Stay home with complaints of a cold.
